Malawi

Malawi National Director Malawi is a landlocked country in southeastern Africa, bordered by Tanzania, Zambia, and Mozambique, and is home to more than 22 million people. The country faces widespread poverty and limited access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunity, particularly in rural communities. Malawi is also home to Dzaleka Refugee Camp, located just outside the capital city of Lilongwe. Established in 1994 for approximately 5,000 people, the camp has grown far beyond its intended capacity and is now home to tens of thousands of refugees and asylum seekers, many from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Burundi, and Rwanda. For children growing up in Dzaleka, life can be marked by uncertainty, crowded living conditions, and limited opportunities for their future.
